Ask a Ranger with Gateway National Recreation Area
Preschool / Sam Durbin
Ask a Ranger: this program is much more flexible and can be catered to fit within a teacher's created lesson plan (with some time for our rangers to prepare of course!). The program includes a video visit from a ranger to ask all your students questions on a topic, in this case, maybe something about local ecology and stewardship.
Project Birdwing: a 3 part virtual field trip that deals with themes of adaptation and ecology through the lens of different types of wings in local bird species. This trip includes an official in class presentation from our educational rangers on the topic and two optional (but highly encouraged!) exercises focused on crafting paper bird models.
